  • 2008 Family Collection Shiraz Mourvèdre Viognier
    This elegant, well-structured blend is a typical example of the french style. The nose is dominated by red berry flavours with spicy undertones. The interesting blend of cultivars result in a combination of elegance and fruit.
  • 2010 Merlot
    Here due to popular demand! It's deep in colour with predominant dark fruit flavours. The palate is rich with notes of chocolate and a cedar wood finish.
  • 2011 Chardonnay/Viognier
    This refined blend is produced to be an elegant, medium bodied wine with an abundance of tropical fruit, with the added complexity of the slightly wooded Viognier component. It is further enhanced by the tones of apricot and melon from the Viognier.
  • 2011 Lookout Pinotage Rosé
    It is said that wine makes those who have wit sparkle, and those who sadly lack this quality, find it." This dry rosé captures the essence of South Africa - friendly, expansive, multilayered fruits, bottled sunshine! Just enjoy it. With or without food. We do.
  • Lookout Red
    This wine was inspired by the Cape Mountain Leopard, a symbol of pride and determination reflecting the natural beauty and heritage of the Cape. A unique blend of seven red varieties, resulted in a medium-bodied, sumptuous wine, showing attractive spicy berry flavours. A succulent, quaffable wine, to be enjoyed on its own or with light meals, pastas and salads.
  • Lookout White
    This well-balanced wine captures the essence of South Africa - friendly, expansive, bright as sunshine, with a bonus of ripe, tropical fruits and the pleasant presence of lime. The after-taste lingers softly. Such a sunny, happy wine is open to endless experiments. So, dish up your favourite food and let the Cape Mountain White flow!
  • 2009 Shiraz
    While the Shiraz vine is known as a shy bearer, there'snothing shy about the personality of this wine. It is a typical South African example of this varietal, showing concentrated violet, blackpepper and spiciness. It's velvety elegance will be enhanced by a few more years in the bottle. Reserve this wine for imaginitive dishes with overtones matching the spicy pepperiness of Shiraz - oxtail, vennison, goulash. And what about an adventure with ostrich?
  • 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot
    In this classically styled wine, the flavours of blueberry, plum and cassis are prominent, enhanced by coffee and toffee undertones. The wine is full-bodied, with a firm tannin structure. An attractive garnet-red hue adds to the attraction. A prime example of this ever-popular blend, it's the perfect companion with hearty meat dishes as well as a variety of nuts and flavourful cheeses. Also delightful on its own.
  • 2008 Pinotage Shiraz
    Soft and medium-bodied, this wine reflects the distinctive characteristics of both varietals in the blend. Plum and mullberry flavours are supported by vanilla undertones while the character us spicy and peppery, with a firm tannin structure. An ideal companion with oxtail, roast pork or hearty stews, as well as liver, quiche or cold meats. Also on its own a sheer delight.
  • 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon
    Clasically styled, this wine has rich blueberry and plum flavours, with a dash of cassis and the support of toffee undertones. While the benefit of ageing is already present, a few more years in the bottle will be well rewarded. A prime example of this ever-popular variety, it's the perfect companion with heart meat dishes as well as a variety of nuts and flavourful cheeses. Also delightful on its own
  • 2011 Chenin Blanc
    With its abundance of fruit and the brightness of sunshine, this Chenin Blanc is a remarkable reflection of the African continent. Showing layers of ripe tropical fruit and nutty undertones, combined with a zesty freshness, it embraces the friendliness of the Cape Winelands. Exceptionally versatile, this wine compliments soups, seafoods and white meats, to salads and after-dinner snacks such as olives and cheese.
  • 2011 Unwooded Chardonnay
    This refined varietal unwooded Chardonnay is produced to be an elegant, medium bodied wine with an abundance of tropical fruit and lime flavours, purified by creamy gooseberry aromas. A versatile companion, this wine is at its best with seafood, light meals and salads, or as an after-dinner compliment to olives and a variety of creamy cheeses.
  • 2011 Sauvignon Blanc
    An elegant, well structured example of this varietal, created by gentle and reductive wine-making methods. Hints of lime and grapefruit flavours are delicately combined with a light green pepper mouth-feel. A zesty after-taste completes the experience.

'A Lion Called Christian' launch

On Saturday 28 January, John Rendall of Christian The Lion-fame will launch his book in Constantia, Cape Town. The launch will take place at the elegant five-star Conservatory at the Cellars-Hohenort and will comprise a lunch paired with Leopard's Leap wines. 

Head chef Ryan Josten will prepare a delectable menu including local octopus carpaccio, slow braised Karoo lamb shoulder and a white chocolate and vanilla panna cotta. Guests will stand a chance to win Wordsworth book vouchers, copies of 'A Lion Called Christian', beauty treatment vouchers and breakfast and dinner at the Conservatory.

The story of the book, which became an internet phenomenon, is the true story of two friends who bought a lion cub from Harrods in London and brought it up in their flat. Christian soon grew from a cuddly cub to the 'King of King's Road', drawing crowds and making friends. As he grew too big, it was decided to fly him over to Kenya to live there. It was there that the famed reunion took place.
